SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 22, 2010 — Oclaro Inc. has announced a family of Clarity laser line filters designed to suppress the amplified spontaneous emissions that occur in diode-pumped solid-state laser systems and to improve the signal-to-noise performance of laser systems.
They are suitable for use in the growing life sciences and analytical markets, and when combined with the company’s laser diodes, they provide customers with significant cost and time-to-market advantages by eliminating the need to work with multiple suppliers on critical components.
The filters can reduce the background noise on the laser and provide good signal-to-noise performance.
The line filters use proprietary high-energy reactive magnetron sputter technology known as advanced energetic deposition to produce highly reliable hard coated filters. The filters combine transmission of >90% at the laser line, sharp spectral edges and out-of-band blocking of >OD6, optimized to meet the needs of high-performance laser systems. The company's coating capabilities extend from 350 to 2000 nm, enabling laser line filters for a wide wavelength range. The filters are available for 488- and 532-nm laser systems.
