A new range of high-performance interference filters has been announced by Omega Optical Inc. The MegaLux optical coatings offer good spectral characteristics on a wide variety of substrate materials using state-of-the-art dual-magnetron reactive sputtering. With this process, the coatings offer the latest methods in optical thin-film design and deposition control and can achieve precise individual layer thickness along with forward and backward proofreading of layer execution for lot-to-lot reproducibility. Suitable for high-volume applications, the coatings have cut-on and cutoff variability of approximately 1 nm and steep cut-on/cutoff slopes.
