PD-LD Inc. has unveiled the volume Bragg grating (VBG)-stabilized multimode 647-nm red laser series. This product line represents the first red-wavelength-range lasers to be stabilized using the proprietary and patented VBG technology, and the series features a combination of high power, accurate center wavelength, narrow bandwidth and small size. It enables an increased range of spectroscopic analytical capabilities. The lasers’ increased precision and expanded range allow for better characterization of the C-H stretch range in Raman spectroscopy, making them suitable for analyzing many organic compounds and various other substances. Besides Raman spectroscopy, applications include avionics and sensing.
