Ibsen Photonics has announced the release of the I-MON 850 interrogation monitor for real-time spectrum monitoring of fiber Bragg grating sensors in the 850-nm wavelength range. High sensitivity enables high resolution at low light levels, and an option for 15-kHz line-scan frequency enables fast measurements. With a USB or an IEEE1394a FireWire interface and data acquisition software, it provides easy setup with a laptop and can act as a stand-alone monitor in combination with a user-selected light source. It integrates easily with the user’s interrogation system control printed circuit board, and external trigger input enables exact timing. Applications include temperature and strain measurements, pressure monitoring and vibration analysis.
