The Intensified PentaMAX-512EFT from Princeton Instruments is an integrated ICCD system that fiber couples a high-speed scientific-grade CCD to an 18-mm Gen II or Gen IV image intensifier. The fiber-to-fiber coupling provides the best transmission of light from the image intensifier output to the CCD, which is divided into two 512 3 512-pixel areas. The image is moved quickly from the sensing area to the masked area, and readout can occur at the same time as the next exposure begins. Because it produces an almost 100% duty cycle, this method allows the intensifier to remain powered continuously. The camera's spectral range is from 180 to 800 nm.
