The ProScan III scanning stages from Prior Scientific Inc. now
are compatible with Carl Zeiss MicroImaging GmbH’s AxioVision microscope software.
Motorized scanning stages occupy a central position in microscope automation. Besides
high repeatability and precision, smoothness of operation and long-term stability
are important requirements for X-Y stages and their control electronics. The ProScan
III scanning stages are used in high-end microscopy applications. With the release
of the Zeiss AxioVision 4.8.2 and MicroToolBox version 1.8.1, AxioVision users can
select Prior’s scanning stages in combination with the ProScan III stepper
motor controller. In collaboration with Zeiss, Prior developed controller firmware
to enable direct stage programming through AxioVision.
