SA2 Aluminum Breadboards

Newport Corp. has expanded its offerings of aluminum breadboards and accessories for basic photonics research and OEM optical assemblies. The SA2 series solid aluminum breadboards now includes more diverse sizes and vertical bracket accessories to provide a stable and lightweight platform for optical components and subassemblies.
The new sizes include 6 × 24, 6 × 36, 12 × 36 and 24 × 36 in. to offer more flexibility for optical experiments. Features include a standard grid of tapped holes that extends to within 0.5 in. of the plate edges, providing an increased mounting surface; and “in grid” counter-bored holes and deep edge chamfers that facilitate lifting, aligning and integrating the breadboards onto standard optical tables.
The SA2-BRKT series vertical brackets are offered in three sizes. The smallest is 6 in. high and is recommended for 6- and 8-in.-tall SA2 plates. The mid-range bracket is 12 in. high and suitable for 12-in. plates, and the 18-in. one provides vertical orientation of SA2 plates up to 36 in. tall.
Custom sizes and shapes are available upon request. The Imperial standard models feature ¼-20 tapped holes on a 1-in. grid, and metric models feature M6 tapped holes on a 25-mm grid. Both versions are deep black anodized to minimize surface reflections, and other surface finishes are available on request.
