Princeton Instruments has added the PIXIS-XF: 2048B to its line of x-ray cameras. It offers back-illuminated 4-megapixel resolution and operates at 100 kHz and 2 MHz. It supports the company’s phosphor replacement design to optimize the camera for different x-ray energies. The fully integrated camera is designed for demanding x-ray applications, including microcomputer tomography, streak tube readout, and industrial and medical imaging.
It measures 115 × 200 mm and weighs 5.5 lb. The compact single-head design supports full triggering and shutter control capabilities and an easy-to-use USB 2.0 interface. The camera is also available with a fiber optic communication kit for long-distance operation at up to 1000 m.
Proprietary WinView software supports data acquisition and a macro-record feature for automating complex experiments. Supported under LabView, the PIXIS-XF provides a full suite of ready-to-use virtual instrument modules for full integration with other instruments.
Features include back-illuminated ultralow-noise electronics, deep thermoelectric cooling and Linux OS support.
