Specialised Imaging has recently supplied its SIM-D ultrafast framing camera in a new multispectral imaging configuration. It can fit up to 16 filters with wavelengths from 400 to 850 nm within the optical system. The camera takes images at exposure times down to 3 ns with zero interframe time, enabling applications such as colorimetry, temperature measurement, and the study of wavelength dispersion when materials are stressed. It operates at up to 1 billion fps. The optical design offers the choice of up to 16 separate optical channels without compromising performance or image quality. Effects such as parallax and shading are eliminated, and the high spatial resolution of >36 line pairs per millimeter is the same from frame to frame and in both axes.
