Ultrafast Amplifier Platform

Spectra-Physics, a Newport Corp. brand, has launched the Spitfire Ace, a technically advanced, ultrafast regenerative amplifier that provides long-term performance and delivers average power of >5 W in 1-, 5- and 10-kHz configurations, with M2 <1.3 beam quality. The highly stable device is suitable for pumping multiple optical parametric amplifier systems and for performing a wide range of nonlinear spectroscopic science applications. Building upon the Spitfire platform, the Spitfire Ace system features digital synchronization electronics and is equipped with XPert technology for stable performance over hundreds of hours. The amplifier is designed for use with the Mai Tai seed laser and Empower pump laser platforms. The new Empower 45 delivers >45 W of average power at 5 kHz.
