NanoSight Ltd.’s new version of its NS200 nanoparticle characterization system is based on the LM20 model and uses nanoparticle tracking analysis, a particle-by-particle visualization and counting method. The company has produced an easier-to-use instrument with a high-sensitivity camera built into the housing. Features include optimized locators to facilitate positioning of the measurement cell, electronic readout of the cell test temperature and an optional blue laser to improve imaging capability. Fluorescence filters can be added when working with suitably labeled particles. The electron-multiplying CCD camera is designed with maximal speed and sensitivity. It operates at 37 full fps collected directly through a USB 2.0 interface, and the laser is triggered to reduce thermal issues with respect to the sample, restricting photobleaching during fluorescence imaging.
