Their Geiger-mode InGaAs avalanche photodiode and thermoelectric cooler ensure high detection efficiency, a low and stable dark count, high speed and low jitter, with a performance superior to 5 x 10–6 per nanosecond. They exhibit good sensitivity in high-level detection, making them more effective than photomultipliers and microchannel plate photomultipliers, according to the company.
