Camera Integration

May 2011
IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbHRequest Info
DirectX, a collection of application programming interfaces by Microsoft Windows, opens possibilities for direct connection of multimedia equipment. The DirectShow component is the interface for cameras. Imaging Development Systems GmbH offers a universal connection option, also called DirectShow, that supports nearly all of the features in the software development kit (SDK) for its uEye industrial camera series. Because all uEye cameras use the same SDK, this option is available for both USB and GigE models. From the USB camera with VGA resolution to the 10-mega-pixel model with a GigE connection and IP65/67 housing, all of the company’s cameras can be integrated with DirectShow. An integral component of the uEye software package, the interface has applications in the medical industry.
