660-nm, 300-mW Laser

Cobolt AB has released a new wavelength on the single-frequency diode-pumped solid-state 05-01 series platform. The Cobolt Flamenco operates at 660 nm with up to 300 mW of continuous-wave output power and is suited for use in DNA sequencing, Raman spectroscopy and interferometry. The laser produces a TEM00 beam with M2 <1.1. A new proprietary cavity design provides ultralow-noise performance of typically <0.1% rms from 20 Hz to 20 MHz and over a temperature range from 10 to 40 °C. Other features include a narrow spectral linewidth of <1 MHz and immunity to optical feedback. It is manufactured in a compact and hermetically sealed package using proprietary HTCure technology. Lasers built using the technology have been shown to withstand multiple 60-g mechanical shocks in operation with no sign of degraded performance.
