BERLIN, June 27, 2011 — Optris GmbH has introduced the CSmicro series infrared thermometers with minimized electronics and an LED display. The improved price-to-performance ratio supports integration into OEM solutions and provides simultaneous operation at several infrared measuring points.
The compact pyrometers are used in the automotive industry. The infrared thermometers can be included in mobile paint dryers for temperature control, or during laminating and welding of plastic parts to ensure constant process and quality monitoring.
The sensors cover a temperature range from −40 to 1600 °C. The LED display in the electronics aids sensor adjustment and shows the condition of the pyrometer (e.g., overheating of the sensor).
The electronics, located within the cable, measure 31 × 12 mm. The miniaturized sensing heads are developed for use in cramped surroundings. The robust design allows operation at temperatures of up to 180 °C without cooling.
The pyrometer series offers an analog two-wire interface (4- to 20-mA current loop) that sends digital data via a USB interface to a connected PC. The CompactConnect software enables complete programming and remote setup.
