Miyachi Unitek Corp. offers the IPB-5000A inverter power supply to provide metallurgical bonding of tin-plated copper ribbon and buss bar interconnects for photovoltaic solar panel manufacturing.

The resistance brazing system consists of a power supply, a transformer and a brazing head and is easily integrated into most photovoltaic solar panel manufacturing operations. It offers 5-kHz fast feedback for good welding control as well as a full-color LCD to show all parameter traces for easy understanding of the welding process.

The system operates in constant-current, constant-voltage or constant-power feedback modes and also can weld in combination mode to address challenging applications or process conditions. A precheck function determines resistance prior to the weld, while comparator and envelope functions monitor the weld to ensure quality.
