Carestream Molecular Imaging has introduced the Gel Logic 4000 PRO, an automated luminescent, UV-fluorescent and radioisotopic imaging system for life sciences research. Designed for speed and sensitivity, it can image a wide range of sample formats, including gels (DNA/ RNA/protein), membranes (Western, Southern, Northern blots), colony and microtiter plates. It can perform digital radiological imaging of in vitro samples for quantitative analysis of radiolabeled samples. Features include a cooled 4.2-megapixel scientific-grade camera (-29 °C), an f/0.95 lens, LED lighting, 10 filter positions, and a motorized sample platform for up to 3x zoom and seven prefocused fields of view. The system offers integrated trans-UV, epi-white light, and trans-white light illumination for imaging of protein- and DNA-based gels.
