PerkinElmer Inc. has launched its Optima 8x00 series inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometers (ICP-OESs) for analyzing environmental, food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, product safety and geochemical samples. The instruments are highly sensitive for rapidly determining the elemental composition of a wide variety of samples. They are designed for ease of use, high throughput and good detection limits, maximizing the productivity and profitability of testing laboratories. Based on customer needs and real-world applications, they include new features that enable laboratories to lower their cost per analysis and more easily meet regulatory requirements. Radio-frequency generator technology reduces argon consumption, and the eNeb electronic sample introduction system provides high sensitivity. The PlasmaCam camera offers continuous viewing of the plasma, simplifying method development and enabling remote diagnostic capabilities.
