DLEM SR Laser Rangefinder

JENA, Germany, Sept. 28, 2011 — Jenoptik AG’s Defense & Civil Systems Div. is launching the DLEM SR, a 1550-nm laser rangefinder that covers a measuring range of more than 1500 m with an accuracy of better than 1 m.

The fully eye-safe rangefinder is so compact, weighing <40 g, that it fits comfortably behind a business card and provides reliable measuring results and high accuracy within the full operating temperature range from −40 to 75 °C. A special measuring method ensures accurate readings achieved by low-energy laser pulses under limited visibility conditions, including fog, rain and snowfall. And targets of high reflectivity, such as triple prisms, also can be measured with high accuracy.

Because of its compact size and good measuring characteristics, the module is easily integrated into handheld systems for military applications, especially for short-range optronic reconnaissance devices.
