Imaging Development Systems GmbH has announced the UI-5480CP industrial camera, which offers a 5-megapixel 1/2-in. CMOS sensor, Power over Ethernet (PoE) and 14-fps image capture at 2560 x 1920-pixel resolution. Measuring 29 x 29 x 41 mm, the camera is part of the uEye series. Its PoE technology can supply its power via the data cable. The camera is an alternative to analog cameras and combines all of the advantages of digital technology in the housing size of analog models. Its robust magnesium housing and screw-on connectors as well as optically decoupled inputs and outputs make it suitable for machine vision tasks. Other features include rolling and global start shutter, and an external 12- to 24-V power supply for those applications not requiring PoE.
