OLCHING, Germany, Oct. 21, 2011 — The FlexPoint MVmicro and FlexPoint MVpico series machine vision lasers manufactured by Laser Components GmbH are line lasers to be used in image processing.
The MVmicro models were developed for stand-alone applications. They measure 19 mm in diameter and are 65 mm long. The MVpico devices are suited for integration into smart cameras. They measure 10 mm in diameter and are 50 mm long. Both are available at different wavelengths and deliver output power from a few milliwatts up to 100 mW.
Due to a special measurement process, the MVmicro and MVpico lasers are classified in a lower class, meaning that they are available with more power and still meet laser Class 2 or 2M specifications. For example, a laser with a 20° fan angle can be classified in laser class 2M if it has an output power of up to 20 mW. Each laser must be inspected individually.
