PicoSpark Short-Pulse Laser
Teem PhotonicsRequest Info
Teem Photonics announces a 25% higher repetition rate and 25% shorter pulse version of the passively Q-switched PicoSpark laser family. Applications include high-quality micromachining and precision marking.
The few hundred picoseconds, master oscillator fiber-amplified (MOFA) laser is now offered with a 50-kHz repetition rate and 400-ps pulse duration, at 1064 or 532 nm, with peak powers >200 kW.
The higher repetition rate allows faster materials ablation, and the shorter pulse duration further reduces the heat-affected zone in sensitive thermally conductive materials.
Models in the laser family offer repetition rates up to 150 kHz, wavelengths from 266 to 1064 nm, pulse widths from 300 to 900 ps and pulse energy from 1 to 200 µJ.
The PQS microchip laser is the seed of PicoSpark and sets the pulse width in the hundreds of picoseconds. At the microchip, laser output is coupled into a fiber amplifier, which serves as the gain stage.
The MOFA architecture allows the pulse width to stay constant, enabling the user to vary the pulse energy and the repetition rate independently of each other.
The lasers are housed in a compact, turnkey package, with an output collimated in free space.
