When compared with multiple-order wave plates, these zero-order types provide increased bandwidth and lower sensitivity to temperature change. Suited for a wide variety of infrared applications, the wave plates are available with λ/4 or λ/2 retardance over a range of wavelengths from 3 to 9 μm.
