NEAR-IR DETECTORS

Photonics Spectra
Nov 1999
Opto Diode CorporationRequest Info

dNEAROpto Diode Corp. says its GaAlAs detector diodes have a signal-to-background light ratio at least 10 times that of unfiltered photodiodes and six times that of black plastic filtered photodiodes. They have a typical responsitivity of 60 A/W at 880 nm and 0.005-A/W at 650 nm. The spectral bandwidth is typically 60 nm at 50%. Optical filters are not needed to block out visible light with the GaAlAs detector diodes in applications including industrial controls, proximity sensors for robotics, optical encoders and long-range infrared links.
