UVP LLC has announced enhanced visualization and imaging capabilities with new Visi-Blue transillumination technology that is recommended for viewing a wide range of fluorescent stained gels that emit light between 460 and 470 nm, including GelGreen, SYBR Green, SYBR Gold, SYBR Safe and GelStar. The technology, including transilluminators and converter plates, does not produce UV light, so it eliminates UV exposure and minimizes damage to samples. The combination of Visi-Blue instruments’ lighting and specially designed filter glass enables bright gel illumination and excitation. The light reduces background noise and increases the image signal, creating higher contrast for enhanced visualization and analysis. The technology enables the use of safer stains for fluorescence imaging.
