The hybrid optical chip from Limo-Lissotschenko Mikrooptik GmbH can be used for collimating and fiber coupling of high-power diode lasers. The chip can focus a 10-mm laser diode bar to a spot 200 µm in diameter at 75% efficiency and 300 µm at 80% efficiency. All optical components can be aligned and fixed on one substrate, and only one element needs to be installed. The chip has a positioning tolerance of ±50 µm and can be used with single stripe emitters, bars and stacks.
