SOMERSET, N.J., Feb. 7, 2012 — Laser Light Solutions (LLS) has released the 8800-HF, a turnkey laser diode system designed for photoacoustic imaging, metrology and instrumentation applications.

The system features fiber-coupled delivery of 24 W of infrared power with up to 5-MHz modulation rates, enabling users to create photoacoustic effects in tissue and to achieve state-of-the-art imaging with high contrast, excellent penetration depth and precise resolution. It delivers 800 nm and can be configured for the 780- to 1100-nm-emission range, which matches optical absorptions critical for biomedical and scientific imaging applications. It also offers end users reliable and efficient operation over a broad temperature range, with flexible direct modulation capability.

It features an easy-to-use touch screen for full intuitive control over all of the laser system parameters. Standard features also include a USB interface for ease of integration and remote control, along with built-in electrical and thermal protection. Users can create control software and query for system feedback by using the comprehensive built-in list of remote commands. Options include a remote foot pedal and TTL control, internal high-speed modulation, power feedback and automatic power control, and customized touch-screen control menus.

Available in an OEM configuration, permission for private labeling may be granted under license from the company. The system also can be configured with red or blue laser sources for other applications in surgery, forensics, advanced displays and optical pumping of Ti:sapphire and dye lasers.
