Aurea Technology is launching the SPD_B, a single-photon-counting module for shortwave near-infrared wavelengths from 1000 to 1350 nm. The ultralow-noise, high-quantum-efficiency device includes a Geiger-mode InGaAs avalanche photodiode and thermoelectric coolers that ensure high detection efficiency up to 30%, a low dark count rate of <5.1 to 6/ns gate, and low timing jitter of <180 ps. The all-in-one instrument is supplied with an easy-to-use and ergonomic graphical user interface compatible with LabView and C++. In the short-wave NIR range, it is suitable for fluorescence lifetime, photoluminescence, spectroscopy and time-correlated single-photon-counting applications.
