ASD Inc.’s FieldSpec 4 line of portable spectroradiometers is designed for fast, precise spectral data collection. The instruments operate from 350 to 2500 nm and allow researchers to cover more ground faster and to obtain high-quality data. Improvements to the short-wavelength infrared (SWIR) region enable users to cover twice the area in half the time. The new spectroradiometer configuration provides good signal-to-noise performance, resulting in precise spectral data with no increase in measurement time. The company said that researchers looking at materials with features at the longer wavelengths will benefit from the improved performance in the SWIR region. vThe FieldSpec 4 Wide-Res model is for multispectral and other areas of research involving materials with broad spectral features, such as plant physiology.
