VICTOR, N.Y., March 2, 2012 — Bristol Instruments Inc.’s 821B-IR laser wavelength meter is for researchers who need to know the exact wavelength of their pulsed infrared lasers and optical parametric oscillators.
The wavelength meter operates from 1.5 to 5 µm. Proven Fizeau interferometer-based technology is used to measure the absolute wavelength of pulsed and continuous-wave lasers to an accuracy as high as ±0.004 nm. To achieve reliable accuracy, the system is automatically calibrated with a well-known wavelength standard. A measurement rate of 200 Hz and other features allow for convenient integration into an experiment to provide real-time wavelength data.
The spectral region of 3 to 5 µm is important to a variety of applications such as molecular spectroscopy and chemical and environmental sensing. Because pulsed lasers are used for many of these applications, the 821B-IR pulsed laser wavelength meter accurately measures laser wavelength and ensures more meaningful experimental results.
