KRAILLING, Germany, Sept. 3, 2012 — A twin laser processing system has been launched by InnoLas Systems GmbH. The ILS TT DS for laser processing, contact opening and selective emitter doping of solar cells is equipped with laser sources and two optics for high throughput.

Contact opening and selective emitter doping are important for high-efficiency crystalline solar cells.

The ILS TT DS is designed to use laser sources and optics that are optimized for a given application. This enables combining of the main processing steps for passivated emitter and rear contact (PERC) cells with local rear contacts in one system. PERC increases the efficiency of crystalline solar cells to far above 19%. The system achieves throughput of up to 3600 cells per h.

It is designed for easy integration into existing production lines for the manufacture of more efficient solar cells.
