Prior Scientific Inc. has unveiled a high-speed motorized filter wheel system for fluorescence microscopy applications. It can hold up to 10 25-mm-diameter filters and be mounted on the illumination or emission side of most light microscopes. Positions are selected with the RS-232 port on any Prior controller or an optional keypad that allows for both filter position selection and shutter control. Magnetic covers give access for changing or adding filters, and filter position numbers are displayed on the unit for both the light path and load position filter.
