LOMBARD, Ill., Nov. 22, 2012 — FSI Technologies Inc. has added a 3-D imaging sensor to its machine vision product line.

The GS 3-D imaging sensors support a new range of robot control and inspection applications.

The sensor images large objects at long distances and does so in milliseconds, without the cycle time and motion required by scanning-based methods. When used in conjunction with the PowerEye machine vision system (powered by Eye Vision Technology software), it can perform bin picking, robotic manipulation, product sorting, mold clearance checking, and space monitoring and object recognition. The 3-D technology aids in determining spatial positions and measurements.
