ETTLINGEN, Germany, Dec. 13, 2012 — Vision Components GmbH is introducing the VC nano cube dual intelligent stereo camera. Featuring two remote sensor heads that measure 22 × 22 × 22.5 mm, it is suited for 3-D tasks and alignment applications, such as positioning of printing plates by means of register marks, where small dimensions and a light weight are essential.

The sensor heads are connected to the housing through a small-diameter connector. The standard cable length is 3 m, with greater lengths available upon request. The camera’s trigger input enables precise, synchronous image capture.

Memory capacity is 32 MB Flash and 128 MB DDR-RAM. Thanks to a computing power of 5.6 billion instructions per second, it is fast and powerful. It independently executes all image processing routines without an external PC, and it is equipped with an Ethernet interface and an optional RS-232.

A global shutter CMOS sensor provides crystal-clear pictures, even in extremely fast applications, and records images with 752 × 480-pixel resolution at 60 fps.
