HELSINKI, May 2, 2013 — Lasersec Systems Corp. has launched the LEA, a handheld elemental analyzer based on laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). It offers advantages in applications using x-ray fluorescence and optical emission spectroscopy.

The device can identify all elements, and can analyze both conducting and nonconducting samples. It requires no sample preparation or cleaning between tests, and no operator certification is needed.

The instrument is suitable for RoHS/REACH compliance, forensics, explosive materials ID, mineral exploration, research and pharmaceuticals manufacturing.
