CLIP-NIR Laser Illuminator/Pointer
May 2013

PORTLAND, Ore., May 6, 2013 — The CLIP-NIR from Flir EOC is a military-qualified 830-nm illuminator/pointer that incorporates proprietary illumination array technology to deliver a beam-down range as far as 15 km.

The instrument provides joint terminal attack controllers and other special operators a compact laser pointer with uniform illumination and combat ID tag triggering in both point and illuminator modes. The power mode is rated at 600 mW, with a beam divergence of <1 mrad (in pointer mode) and an illumination beam width of 4°.

The Laser Safety Review Board-approved device features a standard rail mount and compliant safety interlocks, and it can run for up to six hours on a single CR123 battery. It is available as a component to military electro-optical systems developers.
