IDS Imaging Development Systems’ Ensenso N10 stereo 3-D camera portfolio now offers 24 new versions with focal lengths from 3.6 to 16 mm to cover more distances and sizes.

The devices can be integrated into any application program, including those combining multiple Ensenso cameras or calibrating them with other uEye color cameras to provide color texture to the rendered projection.

The compact, synchronized systems provide metric 3-D data “out of the box,” with no additional calibration required. They are equipped with two global shutter CMOS sensors and an integrated projector that casts a random pattern of dots onto an object, enabling the capture of untextured surfaces. The cameras can capture stationary objects and live images of moving objects.

Measuring 150 × 45 × 45 mm and with a robust aluminum housing and GPIO connector for 12- to 24-V hardware trigger/input/output, the cameras are suited for industrial applications. A free C++ SDK and comprehensive viewer application are included. The SDK provides full access to the 3-D point cloud data.
