SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 7, 2013 — Pemtron Corp.’s PS-230 and PS-250 scanning electron microscopes (SEMs), now distributed by Nanounity, combine the ease of use and cost-effectiveness of tabletop SEMs with the performance and capability of full-size tungsten SEMs.

The PS-230 system has a five-axis motorized stage and accepts large samples, with magnification up to 300,000× and 3-nm resolution at 30 kV. The models do not require a water chiller and have no special facility requirements, reducing cost of ownership. They are compatible with many energy-dispersive spectrometers (EDS), including those from Bruker, Oxford Instruments and Edax. A backscattered electron detector (BSED) also is offered. With extra ports, the systems accommodate in situ techniques such as nanoindenters and nanomanipulators.
