ULM, Germany, July 3, 2013 — The RayShield Coupler by WITec is now available for the alpha300 and alpha500 microscope series, allowing the acquisition of Raman spectra and wave numbers down to less than 10 rel. cm−1.

The high-transmission system includes a narrowband filter set that is optimally aligned to detect Raman lines extremely close to the Rayleigh line while maintaining suitable Rayleigh shielding, enabling additional spectral information from Stokes and anti-Stokes Raman signals to be obtained.

The RayShield Coupler is available for a variety of laser wavelengths from 488 to 785 nm.

Applications include semiconductor research, the pharmaceutical industry, the life sciences, nanocarbon research and materials science.
