OBERSULM, Germany, Oct. 9, 2013 — The UI-3370CP-NIR camera from IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH features the near-IR version of Cmosis NV’s 4.2-MP sensor and is suitable for machine vision, biometry and diagnostics, intelligent transport systems and astronomy applications.

The sensor has a 1-in.2 optical format and 2048 × 2048-pixel resolution to inspect large or round surfaces, making it suitable for solar wafer and surface inspection. Its global shutter ensures distortion-free images in all conditions.

The camera captures up to 8000 fps and comes in a lightweight magnesium housing. Its C-mount lens, lockable USB 3.0 and Hirose connectors, serial interface, and optically decoupled trigger and flash allow the camera to be integrated in a variety of applications.
