Fiber Coupler for Quartz Fibers

HUDSON, N.H., Oct. 17, 2013 — New fiber couplers from Laser Components USA Inc. facilitate the coupling of light from free-beam lasers into a quartz fiber.

Using a mounting flange, the coupler is directly attached to the laser. It can couple laser beams up to 10 mm in diameter with core diameters from 100 to 2000 µm. Screws enable adjustment of the optics inside the coupler along the X- and Y-axes; adjusting the optics along the Z-axis is done via a knurled wheel.

The coupler is suitable for the wavelength range from 400 to 1300 nm. The optics inside can be equipped with antireflection coatings of 400 to 700 nm, 633 to 1064 nm, or 800 to 1300 nm.
