An adjustable beam steerer that attaches to the Microgage measurement and alignment tool is available from Pinpoint Laser Systems. The two devices form an alignment system for machinery and fixtures that enables precision measurements of 0.001 in. or 0.00001 in. with an interface module. This combination allows plant engineers and maintenance personnel to perform measurements over distances from about 1 in. to 50 ft. The Microgage projects a laser beam through the steerer to a portable digital receiver, with results displayed on a readout and computer. The steerer-Microgage system is suitable for distance and surface measurement, leveling, alignment and calibration.
