PETERSFIELD, England, Dec. 5, 2013 — Multipix Imaging has launched ProPhotonix’s 3D Pro variable-focus laser for machine vision applications including 3-D measurement, dimensional scanning, positioning, high-speed sorting and inspection.

The 19-mm-diameter laser module offers linewidths from 30 µm to 120 mm, wavelengths ranging from the UV to the IR, and power levels up to 100 mW. It is available in single, dotted-line, multiline and crosshair beam options, offering uniformity and optical flexibility.

The external focus mechanism preserves factory-set alignment and bore-sight settings, while its lock-in mechanism maintains desired focal distance. It can also be configured for a range of focus and beam-shaping options.
