The 1.5-K, closed-cycle PTSHI-950-LT refrigerator cryostat from Janis Research Co. is a low-vibration pulse-tube cryocooler for applications including neutron scattering, electrical transport and magnetic measurements, optical spectroscopy and spintronics.

The cryostat operates continuously from 1.5 to 300 K (450 K optional) and is a cryogen-free, turnkey alternative to liquid helium. Featuring push-button operation, including sample temperature adjustment, the top-loading refrigerator can locate a sample in static exchange gas or vacuum.

Capable of achieving 1.5 K in <8 h, the device has a 50.8-mm sample chamber (optional to 100 mm) and can be designed to customer specifications.
