RAMSEY, N.J., Jan. 22, 2014 — Konica Minolta Sensing Americas has added Instrument Systems’ LumiCam 1300 imaging photometer and colorimeter to its light- and display-measurement portfolio.

The camera also is designed to take measurements of LED indicator lamps and multifunction information displays. Its high-resolution CCD image sensor allows complex luminance distributions to be measured within seconds.

Features include simultaneous capture of a large number of measurements in a single image; image-processing functions integrated in the software, enabling automated methods of analysis (calculation of homogeneity or contrast); short measurement cycles; and simple setup of intuitive pass/fail criteria for use in production. Applications include the automotive, aerospace and general lighting industries.

1. A visual instrument in which the amounts of three primary lights that match a test color when additively mixed are determined and provide a measure (the tristimulus values) of the test color. 2. A visual or photoelectric instrument for measuring color using (usually) three filters with broad spectral bands. 3. In chemistry, a color comparator used to determine the concentration of absorbing species by Beer's law.
A device used to compare the luminous intensities of two sources by comparing the illuminance they produce.
