BIRKERØD, Denmark, Feb. 6, 2014 — NKT Photonics has added the Aeropulse high-power picosecond pulsed laser to its portfolio of industrial-grade mode-locked fiber lasers for semiconductor inspection, bioimaging and materials processing. The devices are based on the proprietary Crystal Fibre platform.

The configuration of the fully integrated system consists of a 19-in. rack-mountable control unit and a low-profile laser head that can be mounted either horizontally or vertically. The complete system can be either air-cooled for low output power or water-cooled for high output power.

With a 5- to 20-ps pulse length, the Aeropulse delivers up to 40 W of output power at 1035 nm. The device provides quasi-CW output and comes in other wavelengths, including green.
