IRVINE, Calif., July 23, 2014 — The OpticsCage+ system from Newport Corp. is a collection of optical mounts and rods that, when assembled, create self-aligned optical systems.

OpticsCage+ can be adapted to work with 30- or 40-mm optical cages in combination with quad-clip mounts, which provide ways to modify torsional stiffness for more rigidity and stability in fully self-supporting optical setups.

The system can align lenses, filters, wave plates, polarizers, splitters or mirrors to create thousands of design variations. The system can then create interferometers, beam expanders, optical imaging systems and fiber-to-free-space optical systems.
