DUNEDIN, Fla., July 30, 2014 — The STS spectrometer series and Raspberry Pi microcomputer from Ocean Optics Inc. comes in a kit with customizable software and wireless capabilities for biomedical spectral sensing.

The STS Developer Kit offers the choice of three models: STS-UV (190 to 650 nm), STS-Vis (350 to 800 nm) and STS-NIR (650 to 1100 nm). The microcomputer can be controlled from a smartphone, tablet or Web browser to store data.

Applications include DNA, RNA, protein and blood oxygenation measurements.
