LARNE, Northern Ireland, Nov. 3, 2014 — The Eagle V from Raptor Photonics is a 4-megapixel camera intended for high-resolution fluorescence imaging, as well as adaptive optics and astronomy applications.
It uses a back-illuminated CCD42-40 AIMO sensor from e2v technologies. The sensor has a resolution of 2048 × 2048 with 13.5 µm2 pixels, with full-well capacity of 100,000 e- and quantum efficiency >90 percent at 525 nm and >50 percent at 380 and 720 nm.
The sensor is vacuum-cooled down to less than -110 °C <δ, delivering dark current of 0.0001 e/p/s for exposure times of up to several hours.
