PLYMOUTH, England, Nov. 13, 2014 — A new LED die from Plessey helps customers to determine the optimum application fit.

Based on GaN-on-silicon technology, the device takes advantage of silicon’s low thermal resistance for thermal management and enhanced reliability.

Its vertical design has a cathode top and anode bottom contacts. It generates up to 5 W of blue light over a 400- to 480-nm wavelength range.
